On 28th November 1958, a state dinner was held in Dewan Tunku Abdul Rahman during the visit of the Prime Minister of Canada Mr. John G. Diefenbaker to Malaysia.
January 1960, Allahyarham Tun Abdul Razak bin Hussein Deputy Prime Minister of the Federation of Malaya, launched The State Land and Mines Commissioner Convention in Dewan Tunku Abdul Rahman.
